lyrics
Sacred bliss interrupted by pre-matter chaos
Formless black tears asunder the veil between worlds
Unravelling in darkness now, universal disintegration
Matter returns into forms, an end to all is here
From this night of utter violent destruction
Shall arise a brand new burning dawn
Princes of death grow tired of a fallen world in stasis
So children of Ennoia blast chaos through this sphere
Unravelling!
Tearing!
Killing!
Ending!
Emanating!
Birthing!
Creating!
Becoming!
To undergo transformation one must first be decomposed
Only once one is deceased can one then be reformed
Total death now streams forth from beyond and from within
Killing to make room for a new order sans matter
A black void rises over the horizon
A black sun shining rays of putrefaction
The start of Earth’s utter violent destruction
Illuminating death in a brand new burning dawn
I can't formally retract the erroneous 2.0 I gave this back in 2018, but I can say that, five years on, I've come around to this record in a big way. Quality death metal with great atmosphere without being "atmospheric" (read: boring) metal. Diabolus in Muzaka
Outstanding death metal with blackened touches. For those who dig Beherit, Cryptopsy or Demoncy, check out this LP. Much of this LP owes its brilliance to those who went before; that is, this artist does not deny metal traditions. But there is no pre-fabricated art here, as there is a strong, unique vision in all of the songwriting. The riffs all make sense in their given context; there's nothing that seems superfluous. Very highly recommended listening. Look forward to more from Blood Urn! Wow! xhrl_
Featuring members of Noothgrush, Graves at Sea, and more, the Oakland metal band juxtapose cavernous doom with spaced-out shoegaze. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 21, 2024
Purposeful, this LP’s metal consists primarily of low-to-mid-paced riffs from doom, DM, & BM. These are complemented by influences from prog-rock, in which tonal contrasts add nuance & a way of connecting parts within the album. Everything is structured with meticulous care, avoiding the wild-blend sensation that seems at best pretentious & at worst aimless. Guided by low-pitched vocals that provide a sturdy musical framework & continuity, Condor has produced metal that is very beautiful! Wow. xhrl_
