lyrics
A winged being of god’s love burns in heretic flames
Wings and limbs twisted, bent around the witches’ stake
Mercy deemed insufficient next to justice’s sword
So salvation’s decadent herald burns in Satan’s flames
False god’s love impotent
Against the eternal rule of hate
Acceptance runs counter to aesthetics
So shall be burned black in red flames
Transmuted in Hell’s crucible
To devourment of all substance
Decadence burned against itself
To emerge as pure wrathful virtue
Fire burns flesh! Death takes life!
Cries for salvation go unheard!
Man and Seraph die as one!
Rightful heir of perdition takes his throne!
This decadent angel’s ashes fall around the stake
Emblem of what awaits man and awaits a false god
Justice taken to extreme to become tyranny
Dragging a knife across mercy’s throat

I can't formally retract the erroneous 2.0 I gave this back in 2018, but I can say that, five years on, I've come around to this record in a big way. Quality death metal with great atmosphere without being "atmospheric" (read: boring) metal. Diabolus in Muzaka

Outstanding death metal with blackened touches. For those who dig Beherit, Cryptopsy or Demoncy, check out this LP. Much of this LP owes its brilliance to those who went before; that is, this artist does not deny metal traditions. But there is no pre-fabricated art here, as there is a strong, unique vision in all of the songwriting. The riffs all make sense in their given context; there's nothing that seems superfluous. Very highly recommended listening. Look forward to more from Blood Urn! Wow! xhrl_

Purposeful, this LP’s metal consists primarily of low-to-mid-paced riffs from doom, DM, & BM. These are complemented by influences from prog-rock, in which tonal contrasts add nuance & a way of connecting parts within the album. Everything is structured with meticulous care, avoiding the wild-blend sensation that seems at best pretentious & at worst aimless. Guided by low-pitched vocals that provide a sturdy musical framework & continuity, Condor has produced metal that is very beautiful! Wow. xhrl_
