I can't formally retract the erroneous 2.0 I gave this back in 2018, but I can say that, five years on, I've come around to this record in a big way. Quality death metal with great atmosphere without being "atmospheric" (read: boring) metal.

Outstanding death metal with blackened touches. For those who dig Beherit, Cryptopsy or Demoncy, check out this LP. Much of this LP owes its brilliance to those who went before; that is, this artist does not deny metal traditions. But there is no pre-fabricated art here, as there is a strong, unique vision in all of the songwriting. The riffs all make sense in their given context; there's nothing that seems superfluous. Very highly recommended listening. Look forward to more from Blood Urn! Wow!

Purposeful, this LP’s metal consists primarily of low-to-mid-paced riffs from doom, DM, & BM. These are complemented by influences from prog-rock, in which tonal contrasts add nuance & a way of connecting parts within the album. Everything is structured with meticulous care, avoiding the wild-blend sensation that seems at best pretentious & at worst aimless. Guided by low-pitched vocals that provide a sturdy musical framework & continuity, Condor has produced metal that is very beautiful! Wow.
